This is the room to take if you want to watch the light change. The balcony faces out over the valley, so mornings start with whatever the weather has decided to do — sometimes a clear line of ridges going blue into the distance, sometimes cloud sitting below you.
Inside it is warm rather than showy: local pine overhead, a jute rug underfoot, a wardrobe, a luggage rack and a wall light by the bed. There is a long desk running under the window with a kettle at one end, which is why a fair number of our guests end up staying a few days longer than they planned and calling it a workation.
