If you are coming up for snow

• Leave early. Snow weekends put the year's heaviest traffic on the road above Mussoorie, and it all arrives in the same few hours.
• The road can be slow or briefly closed while the stretch above Mussoorie is cleared. It is cleared; it is just not instant.
• Shaded corners hold ice long after the sun is out, which is the part that catches people who have only driven up in summer.
• Dress for standing still. People dress for the car and then spend two hours outside in it.
